Abstract:The present study connects to the signals of theoretical registries as offered by Radical Orthodoxy, which defines itself as an innovator movement within a “massive project of re-narrating reality” and considers itself to be a contemporary theological direction marked by distinct profound sensitivities, and cumulating both participatory philosophical events and incarnate theological events. One can thus launch and verify the hypothesis proving that RO is not exempted from those third-order postmodern formulations to which it diligently applies: warning – alternative – programmatic endeavor; direction – project– philosophy; pro(– ject, – gram, – spective). Within the Linda Hutcheon – Jean Fr. Lyotard line one can reassess a directioning of postmodernist politics through a change of direction occurring within postmodern trajectories imposing plus-mediation; theology must debate something else, accepting (as collage) the specific difference; exegesis – cultural meditation – philosophical meditation. In an opportune mixture, the terms Radical and Orthodoxy configure the landmarks of a hyper-spiritualiz(ing) particular ontology – a no-holds-barred neutral and secular rejection project – admitting that, in a note of Habermas-ian inflexions, Christianity represents a complex space, a participatory mediation sphere; a Eucharistic model - as nodal point of any political agenda - as applied to concepts such as border, citizenship, peace practice and conciliation. The study’s originality resides in/from decreeing the philosophical– theological movement as an ideatic current concerned with a (re)estimation of reconfiguration reflexes of nihilo-centric ideology (motivational Sloterdijk-ian nihilism) and an exponential factor for the paralogical tendencies of (re)signifying postmodernism through an essentially postmodern theology.
