| Abstract: | In this essay we explore an aspect of hermeneutics situated at the intersection of the Imaginary and of deep rhetoric, in order to draft a prolegomenon moving from the writings of Gaston Bachelard and Lucian Blaga. The first part demonstrates how Blaga’s thoughts on revelatory metaphor within his philosophical œuvre coincide with Gaston Bachelard’s ideas of the image. In the second part we analyze an example drawn from the poetry of Lucian Blaga (Asfinţit marin). In the third part, we demonstrate how Gaston Bachelard and Lucian Blaga had the merit of associating, by diverse means, the configuration of metaphor, and of the image, within the field of the symbol in order to find a common ground for values and functions, thus opening a fascinating territory of interpretation. |
