Abstract: | This paper offers some clues in order to understand the genesis and structure of Manfred Winkler’s poetry. The poet was born in Bukovina. The multilingualism specific to that region explains the fact that Winkler worked as a translator both from German into Hebrew and from Hebrew into German, but also from and into Ukrainian, Yiddish, Russian and Romanian. He wrote his poetry both in German and in Hebrew. |
