| Abstract: | Socio-anthropological and cultural-historical criteria require the consideration of the Greek root χώρα/chora for the etymological re-evaluation of the Romanian word oraş. The use of this root on the Daco-Romanian territory during the first millennium and even before is well documented and the derivation with the –aş suffix is typical of the Romanian language. |
