Abstract: | [Principles of analogical and contrastive grammar] This article starts from the principle of linguistic diversity as a fundamental reality of human culture and civilization. Although, in the frame of this diversity, it is possible to make a classification of the languages in two great categories, that means: a) analogical languages and b) contrastive languages. For example, we may say that Romanian language and Spanish language present much more analogical structures at all levels of grammar (phonetics, morphology, syntax, lexical), so that may be considered analogical languages; by the contrary, between Romanian and Hungarian such analogies are also inexistent, and so, we may consider that Romanian language and Hungarian are contrastive languages. On these considerations, we proposed a reform of learning-teaching methodology of the foreign languages, based on the exploitation of this reality, in other words, we propose to apply the indirect method of learning-teaching in foreign languages, instead of the direct, intuitive method, which make abstraction of the mother tongue. The method we propose uses the structures already assimilated of the mother tongue aiming to evidence –by analogy or by contrast– the structure of the foreign language studied. |
