Abstract:[The notion of transposition in the Genevan linguistics: Charles Bally and Albert Sechehaye]
From the historical point of view, the first configuration of the field of linguistic notion of transposition belongs to Geneva linguists. Our article proposes a comparison between the theoretical approaches of the transposition from Charles Bally and Albert Sechehaye. These approaches based on the idea of the intercategorial transfer not only present significant differences, but also closeness at principled level. If the differences concern mostly the domain extension of this notion and the nature of the view point on the respective phenomenon, the similarities are at the principles level of general linguistics inspired by Saussure that these linguists adopt in their work.
