Abstract: | In the first section of the John’s Gospel is presented the episode of the Temple’s cleansing. Through linguistically language the author shows a different connotation, apart from the historical one presented in the Synoptic Gospels. Two quotes from the Old Testament (Zech. 14.20-21 and Psalms 68,11 LXX) reveals the literal sense expressed by Jesus Christ, as the mystical meaning to the episode given by the Johannine community. Surrounded on the „house” noun, the variation of verbs in the present tense to the future tense shows the process of the directed re-writing, wanted by the biblical writer. |
Key words: | Intertextuality, Jesus, re-write, John’s Gospel, house |
