Abstract:This paper aims to be a contrastive study which analyses the main morphological features of the adjective, both in Romanian and in English. There are to be discussed the issues regarding the forms and classification of the adjectives and their degrees of comparison in the two languages.
It should be noted that, depending on the type of the adjectives, proper adjectives or adjectives that come from another part of speech, they show similarities or differences in terms of the formation of the degrees of comparison.
The Romanian grammatical system differs from the English one, but there are also common elements, the differences and the similarities representing the basis of such a study.
