| Abstract: | [About some toponyms linked to public space in the traditional rural life in Champagne-Ardenne (France)] From the Middle Ages to the beginning of the 20th century, public spaces, and particularly communal grounds, played an essential part in the rural life and the structuring of territories. Based on a corpus consisting of the place names recorded in the land register of the area Champagne-Ardenne (France), this research aims to identify and analyse some words related to communal pastures and common grazing land, in order to study the relations which they maintain from the perspective of dialectology and toponymy. |
