Abstract:In a few distinctive chapters, we present one of the most important character of the Romanian literature (not only of the Romanian exile), Virgil Ierunca. He was a notorious voice of the Romanian anticommunist exile, but he was also a gifted writer and a persevering founder and editor of the literary press. We can assert that in the history of the journalism it is very rare a person who had a vocation as a founder of literary publications managed to edit them as Virgil Ierunca did. His literary talent can be discovered in the art of portrait, in the art of finding the most appropriate word which could express a fact or a feeling. His entire literary or cultural activity had – as a main idea – the fight against oblivion of the communist regime and also of the intellectuals who continued Romanian culture in exile.
