Abstract:[Acronyms and Semantic Relations] Complex name units commonly used may be reduced to initial letters forming an abbreviation for several terms of denominational unity. These suites may consist either of only capital letters followed or not by points (UN or UN United Nations or F.L.E. or FLE for French Foreign Language) or a combination of capital letters and lowercase letters (Un, Fle). This particular method of abbreviation which gives rise to sequences of letters treated as names is known as Initialism. In our study we do not discuss the Initialism process, but its results – sequences of abbreviative letters – generically called acronyms. We will limit our study to semantic inter-and intralinguistic relations.
