Abstract: | The 17th Puritan thinking and way of approaching various layers of existence constitute the foundation for what was going to be the American world view. The key concepts that governed the life of the Puritan community pervaded the social, political as well as cultural life and this makes them essential for the analysis of what is now the American identity. Furthermore, in a time of post isms, if we may say so, the idea of the Puritan dream comes to reinforce the hope in the resources of the human being within a community. |
