Abstract: | The distinctive trait of Tudor Arghezi’s poetry is contradiction, as an expression of an never-ending interrogation and, consequently, a stylistic device. From social poetry to that expressing a solipsistic self, from art described as the result of an collective effort to that produced by alienating loneliness, from the estethics of ugliness to miming naivity and regaining ingenuity, even from avantgardist freedom to communist alignment, his work inserts, at all its levels, the dualism and multiplication as cruces of language and being. |
