Abstract: | [The Economic Analysis of Early Messianic Movement] The question about the appearance of Christianity needs many answers and reflections from different angles. How was it possible that such a marginal Messianic movement (from Eastern Roman Empire) become an important religious order in a pagan and intolerant world? How Christianity made its way in a society where many religions were protected by different emperors? Which were the initial critical elements that stimulated it? How Christianity defeated many pagan religions and has become, over time, the dominant creed for the entire Western world? Was it an urban religious movement? From the demographic point of view and then considering the role of women in such evolution, the open social networks (based on a structure of direct interpersonal connections), the role of low strata in the birth of Christianity, as well as the impact of middle and upper classes on the development of the Messianic movement can intertwine into a thesis that might be called “cultural continuity”. This raises rather intriguing arguments in solving such historical and religious “critical junction”. |
