Abstract:[A Historiographic Metafiction à rebours: Ştefan Agopian’ Fric as an Exercise of Discoursive Restructuring and Diegetic Deconstruction] By the very nature of his writing, Stefan Agopian is an author who is reluctant and difficult to be strictly associated with any literary doctrine and who appears to recant of all his former conceptions and even himself in his novel Fric. After a narrative course of writing, recording the stages of a literary discourse in relationship with the (anti)norms and (anti)narrative concepts as in The Day of Wrath, The Book of Happenings, Velvet Tache, Tobit and Sarah, Fric is the terminus of a postmodern freely polemic experiment under the name of Stefan Agopian. The book marks the boundary where the contamination of genres and types of discourse restructures both the concepts involved and the related theories, and mostly the relationship of writing with the theory and practice of historiographic metafiction.
