| Abstract: | Sorin Titel’s novel Clipa cea repede tackles with different aspects of time, carrying the characters in all possible worlds. Some of the characters – like Ana, Nunșca, the old men, the school principal, etc. – endowed with the gift of reviving the past, a sort of magicians, present in almost all Titel’s novels, succeed in travelling to the past and coming back to the present. They transgress the time in order to give a sense to their reality and to re-live their unique moments over and over again. All these prove to be in vain because time cannot be stopped and the characters are confronted with its painful perception. Both Ana’s dreams and every memory that feels like an honest representation of life represent ways to come out of time, even if they are ephemeral. Once the limit of the time is reached, the tragic is present in the characters’ lives. |
