| Abstract: | This research is dedicated to names of waters from the hydrographical basin of the Prut. From the inventory of hydronyms the author has selected and examined micro- hydronyms which denominate the green and animal world comprising about 10% of the total number of hydronyms of the respective area. Studying these names is extremely important because it helps to know the social, economic life of a nation and, implicitly, to know the history of the Romanian language. |
