Abstract: | The study emphasizes the relations existing between the world in the novel Mara by Ioan Slavici, at the end of the XIXth century and our contemporary times. Hence, the main theme represents the analysis of the mentalities peculiar to the town communities in Banat and the way in which these mentalities have contributed to the formation of today’s capitalism in Romania. I also had in view the intersection of some less popular domains of the literary research, such as the history of economic ideas, politology and the sociology of the couple and family. The present research is an approach towards a less known dimension in Romanian literature which is tackled from a new multidisciplinary perspective. |
