Abstract: | The baroque literature, developed in the south-eastern European countries, is characterized by a spectacular feature, born out of the melt of external influences and traditional elements of the respective cultures. To the themes and motifs of the western European baroque literature, there is added, within this cultural aria, the tendency to moralization, the east-European scholars being interested in the psychological and social echoes of their discourse. Besides the moral aspects, the east-European baroque writers focus on the mirroring the history of their people. the integration of history in the literary discourse, the manifestation of patriotic feelings become specific traits of the humanism born (rather late compared with that of the western space) in eastern Europe. |
