Abstract:Graphic variants of Korean words used in the current Romanian can be explained by the differences between the original and revised McCune-Reischauer system. In the communist era, the most common Korean names were transliterated from Russian. Therefore in Romanian have been preserved spellings as Phenian (Pyongyang) or Kim Ir Sen (Kim Il Sung).
Key words:
  • vocabular, romanizare, cuvinte coreene, variante, ortografie
  • vocabulary, Romanization, Korean words, variants, spelling
