Botanical lexis includes a series of elements of onomastics (antroponyms and toponyms) specific to both scientific denominations and common names of plants. These elements give motivation to the terms semantics and are a confirmation of the relations between onomastics and terminology. Irrespective the language it is used in, the common name of the plant is mirrored by the scientific denomination, or is similar to it.
Le lexique botanique inclut toute une série d’éléments d’onomastique (anthroponymes et toponymes) dans les dénominations scientifiques et communes des plantes. Ces éléments assurent une motivation sémantique des termes et représente une confirmation des relations entre l’onomastique et la terminologie. Indépendamment de la langue où elle circule, la dénomination commune de la plante se retrouve dans la dénomination scientifique ou est proche de celle-ci.
