| Abstract: | The village of Malataverne is a place haunted by curse. The inhabitants speak about old crimes which have not been paid for or repaired. Thus, the curse continues its existence and turns Robert into a trap, involving him and two other fellows in a misfortune: stealing an old woman`s money. The boy changes his mind and wants to prevent a possible death. The result is that he becomes a criminal himself. Bernard Clavel joins his main character all along his evolution, sometimes keeping a close distance, some other time a remote one and in the end he abandons his character. |
