Abstract: | The reflection on the necessity of a project for reading competency formation in the actual context, when reading competes with other informational sources (media), becomes an essential dimension of the Romanian Language and Literature teacher. We start such a project from the new theories of receiving – which define the significance of a work as an effect on the reader’s personality – trying also to capitalize the traditional directions of the intentional, and non-intentional hermeneutics of Heidegger and H.G. Gadamer. This perspective is focused on the idea that the reader becomes an active agent of a cultural mediation, and the interpretation is defined as a negotiation of the meaning. Thus, interpretation becomes an inter- / trans-disciplinary art with new techniques and strategies opened towards an Anthropology of communication (debate, role-play). In this way the formation of reading competency – understood as the ensemble of the knowledge, and abilities used in text interpretation – could be connected to the trends of the new theory of communicative action. (J. Habermas), all included in the large context of R. Rorty’s Pragmatism. This new approach of Romanian Language and Literature class – as a dialogue with the ‘other’, with the self, and with society - shows us the necessity and the importance of the Didactics of communication study, and also proves the efficiency of the new communicative-functional model which is based on the communicative competency as a superstructure of the reading competency, both competencies being components of the semiotic competency. |
