| Abstract: | În ciuda unor opinii critice care susţin inexistenţa unui tipar structural, The House of the Seven Gables, aparţinând autorului american Nathaniel Hawthorne, are părţi structurate atât cantitativ cât şi calitativ. Romanul se compune dintr-un şir de antiteze cu 3 (trei) contraste dominante: democratic - aristocratic, personaje izolate social - personaje integrate social, respectiv aparenţă - realitate. Tema majoră, cea a necesităţii comuniunii umane, rezultă din lupta acestor contrarii care în final conduc spre un “ansamblu unificator”. |
