  • La première Présidence roumaine du Conseil de l’Union européenne est une occasion importante pour le gouvernement de Bucarest de promouvoir des thèmes régionaux dans le mécanisme décisionnel communautaire. Cependant, le contexte dans lequel la Présidence commencera est affecté par le climat intérieur du pays, notamment lié aux réformes du système de la justice, critiquées virulemment par les chancelleries occidentales. Cet article analyse le contexte de la Présidence roumaine, aussi bien que les préparations accomplies pour les six mois et les priorités majeures promues, tout en soulignant la manière dont le spécifique national a été reflété par l’agenda choisi et sa faisabilité.
  • [Some considerations on the organisation of the first Romanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union]
    The first Romanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union is an important opportunity for the Bucharest government to promote a set of regional priorities within the Community’s decision-making mechanisms. Nevertheless, the context in which the President is set to begin is marred by the internal situation of the country, chiefly with regard to the reforms of the justice system, which have been severely criticised by western chancelleries. This article analyses the context of the Romanian Presidency, as well as the preparations conducted for the six-month period, and the main priorities to be promoted, while underlining the extent to which specific national topics have been reflected by the agenda that has been set, and its feasibility.
