Abstract:
[Personal name as the object of study of Sociolinguistics]
This article starts from the premise that the personal name is a social and ethnocultural sign because it appears and functions in a society and for society. The appearance of personal names is determined by the socio-cultural and political events that take place in society at a given time, in a particular geographical area. On the basis of the analysis of the statistical data provided by the Public Services Agency and the registers of birth certificates from Orhei district, we intend to demonstrate that the sociolinguistic perspective of studying anthroponymy is related to the anthroponymic variation and refers to the social, the psychological and the pragmatic components of the naming act. From the sociolinguistic point of view, these three components contribute to the realization of the three important functions of the first names: separator, unifying and prestigious.
Articolul de față pornește de la premisa că numele propriu de persoană reprezintă un semn social și etnocultural, deoarece ia naștere și funcționează în societate și pentru societate/ comunitate. Apariția numelor este determinată de evenimentele social-culturale și politice, care au loc în societate, într-o anumită epocă, într-o anumită zonă geografică, și de tendințele modei lingvistice. În baza analizei datelor statistice oferite de Aparatul central al direcției generale de stare civilă din cadrul I.P. ,,Agenția Servicii Publice” și a Registrelor actelor de naștere, oferite de OSC Orhei, ne-am propus să demonstrăm că perspectiva socio-lingvistică a studierii antroponimiei ține de variația antroponimică și vizează componenta socială, componenta psihologică și componenta pragmatică a actului de numire. Din punct de vedere sociolingvistic, aceste trei componente contribuie la realizarea a trei funcții importante ale prenumelor: separatoare, unificatoare și de prestigiu.
