Abstract: | In German, the preposition “von” is among primary prepositions whose characteristics are: require words or groups of words (in dative, accusative, or both) and, in turn, they might be required by adjectives, nouns or verbs. This preposition, therefore determines many relationships and is the starting point, in this case having a meaning of place, time lapse announcing the starting point, now with a time meaning, the characteristic, attribute, the modal meaning and, last but not least, it has the main role in forming the agent. Also, “von” is part of several phrases which I have tried to emphasize and explain their meaning. |
