| Abstract: | Agreement is a grammatical concept that has received various definitions, descriptions and classifications both from grammatical and normative perspectives. In the present paper, we offer an inventory of the syntactic structures that involve agreement and suggest a quantitative-qualitative classification of agreement based on the number of morphological classes involved in the agreement and the number of grammatical categories common to both terms involved. The classification is shown to be possible and relevant as the four categories thus obtained display high homogeneity, with only one morphological unit having characteristics shared by two classes. |
