Abstract:IATE is the interinstitutional multilingual terminology database of the European Union, managed by the IATE Management Group. It is fed by 5000 translators from 10 institutions operating with 552 linguistic combinations in 24 languages. It manages today 8.5 million entries. At the moment, IATE is not directly integrated to the most recent CAT tools used by the European Parliament‘s translators. Our study starts from IATE‘s features description and from the state of the art of the translation currently in use, with the objective to explore solutions to transform IATE in a terminological Linked Open Data resource in order to become a tool useful for the European Interoperability Strategy (EIS).
