Abstract:A corpus based study of French texts in the domain of space sciences reveals several paradigms using unexplained English technical terms and, indicating that the reader is expected to be familiar with this terminology. Using examples from orbitology, the different paradigms are detailed, and numerous sequences are shown to contain repetitions French and English. Such repetition runs counter to the precept of terminology facilitating precise and efficient communication between experts. It it proposed that although such repetitions might be considered pleonastic, their presence demonstrates a degree of integration according to French grammatical principles and paradigms.
