Abstract: | The starting point for our analysis is a rather disputed statement. The translation of the acquis commnautaire as a relatively new translation experience in Europe, namely in the countries that joined the European Union over the last decade, including Romania, has highlighted some stubborn vulnerabilities or pathway vulnerabilities. This is in spite of the sequence of measures that were expected to provide solutions, in particular the terminology coordination and creation of multilingual thematic glossaries, the development of training programs for translators, etc. Starting from a contrastive approach of Neo-Latin terminology examples in French and in Romanian, we propose to highlight some features of the operational texts translation, such as the acquis communautaire, namely the challenges of the creation of an institutional terminology and of the appropriate dissemination of terms. |
