Nous nous proposons d’étudier l’utilisation d’une langue de spécialité par des étudiants non francophones et de langue maternelle différente au travers d’échanges informels qu’ils ont menés pour la réalisation d’un projet commun. Les étudiants maîtrisent-ils cette langue de spécialité ? Dans quelle mesure ont-ils pu contourner leurs lacunes pour mener à bien la tâche qui leur était demandée ? Nous nous interrogerons sur les facteurs qui les ont motivés dans leur travail afin de proposer quelques pistes pour la conception d’une formation disciplinaire en langue étrangère à distance.
The authors analyze how students who learn French as a foreign language and whose mother tongues are different use French as a language for Specific Purposes [FSP], through informal interactions, to achieve a common task. How well do the students master the FSP? Which strategies did they adopt to compensate their difficulties, in order to complete their task? We will examine the factors which have improved the students’ motivation, and we will finally give a few suggestions to design an e-learning speciality training in a foreign language tailored for distance learning.
