Abstract:Within the context of so many representations of mass-media nowadays (cultural, scientific, sportive, military, religious etc.), linguistic journalism is timidly emerging and joining the other forms of media that already occupy solid positions in collective mentality. I monitored the Romanian, either specialized or general, mass-media of the latter years and I could observe two directions, one direct, and the other indirect, of journalism. Indirect journalism can be inferred from the content of articles or of TV and radio broadcasts. This paper is an attempt at a detailed systematization of media manifestations in the new field mentioned above, from two perspectives: that of language cultivation and that of language criticism, respectively.
Key words:alive media, journalistic typology, linguistic journalism, The Linguistic Journalists Organization, crisis of authority
