Abstract:[Translator poets and translator readers. 1. Three Spanish poets connoisseurs of language and foreign cultures] The study has as main theme the presentation of three translator – poets Jaime Siles (Valence 1951), Antonio Colinas (León, 1947) and Luis Antonio de Villena (Madrid, 1951). The first one is the translator of Celan, Coleridge, Reiner Kunze, Pere Gimferrer and many others, the second is the translator of Leopardi and Salvatore Quasimodo, and the third of Du Bellay, Michel-Ange’s sonnets and the French symbolist poets. The approach of foreign texts favours a better understanding of the poetic outbreak of the 70’s in Spain, a country in search of a plurilinguistic and democratic consciousness. The choices of the translator – poets allow the reader – translator to understand the literary phenomenon determined by the connection with the “other.” The translation becomes, thus, an adventure of the languages involved - considered as cultural symbols (language and identity). These translations do not represent a mere research topic (the text as a matter of translation) but rather a research topic of poetical hermeneutics (the translator as subject).
