Abstract:[Literature in the foreign language class in a communicative approach] After we did a short history of the place and the finality of the literary text in traditional and audio-visual methods, we stopped on the communicative method, which assured priority to the discursive state of the literary work and proposed diverse steps as: developing pattern models and exploiting creativity; exploiting inter-cultural dimension, the types of text, the literary practices of the “source” culture.
The literary text must be considered at the same time as a base of didactic unities, a communication object and something to be talked about. By the complexity of the utterance (énonciation) plans, the literary text remained a support, frequently used in foreign language lessons, creating the environment of a real communication among students.
