Abstract: | When working on specific purposes, the teacher’s task is much more complex than usually. It requires not only theoretical knowledge on the language mechanisms and on the teaching methods, but also the ability to analyze the types of discourse and the vocabulary which characterize the communication within a particular field of activity. The aim of this article is to provide a few methodological guidelines and emphasize some major aspects to consider when teaching French for Business. Our focus is on vocabulary, on the ways to approach and integrate it in the teaching process. We plead for contextualization and for an interactional approach in order to strengthen the relationship between the teaching process and the use of the language in real life situations. |
