Abstract: | According to the Common European Language Framework, applying for a job is a complex professional task. The competences that the student needs to possess in order to accomplish this task are related to personal experience, socio-cultural knowledge and linguistic proficiency. Starting from this, the article intended to examine how students in international relations learn how to manage a job application. For each intermediary task of this complex undertaking – reading job advertisements, writing a CV and a job application letter, we shall provide answers to the following questions: What should we teach? How do we teach it? How can we evaluate results? We provide ideas about the documentary materials that the teacher can use, as well as an evaluation grid adapted to each intermediary task. |
