Abstract: | This article focuses on the mother-child relationship and its complexity, as presented in some novels of the Nobel Prize winner, J.M.G. Le Clézio. The somatic transformation of women while giving birth to their children underlines the emergence of an identity crisis, leading to the difficulty to connect or rely on other people. Trying to remain a feminine while embracing maternity, the woman finds herself alone or abandoned in a world where suffering and despair return repeatedly. |
