| Abstract: | The paper attempts to bring forward some original aspects of S. Stati’s way of viewing pragmatics. The concepts of pragmatic functions, argumentative roles and transphrastics – as defined by S. Stati – created an opening towards the complex issue of the making up of texts / discourses and, accordingly, towards the interactionism. At the same time, they offer stimulating suggestions for integrating pragmatics with rhetoric and argumentation. |
