Our paper dwells on the media discourse of the integration, occasioned by the Integration of Romania in the European Union on 1st January 2007. This type of discourse pertains to the «political discourse», as well as to the «administration», «socio-cultural», «economic» or «legal» one. Oriented in accordance with the speaker’s purpose (of informing, of announcing subsequent events, of preparing the public to the facing of new realities, but also that of making people fear its consequences, of manipulating people who are not ready to meet the European norms...), this discourse brings up to the surface two different moments: the «official entry» (1st January 2007) and «the integration», meant to unfold in an indefinite continuum of time (its duration being perceived subjectively – varying from 20 to 40 years, according to the Prime Minister, for example).
