Abstract:The preoccupation to know religion and the religious phenomenon has existed for a very long time, and it has manifested as a description, an apology or a fight against some beliefs, cults or heresies.
Any religion is based on this „Transzedentale Apperzeption“, on a „totally different” presence which transcends the human being.Surpassing the period when the human being was plenary aware of this homo religiosus feature, the modern man - defined only by the paradigm of the rationale and interested only in his own good, is desecrating the universe. By deconstruction and reconstruction, the individual is reported to the sacred, in a new modality. The sacred remains a constant and fundamental benchmark of human conscience. It seems that the human being, as desecrated as he is, may maintain some mental and behavioural patterns which are specific to the experience of the sacred, susceptible to be revalued and given new significance in any cultural context, even (or maybe especially) in the postmodern one.
Key words:
  • sacru, desacralizare, hierofanie, postmodernism
  • sacred, desecrated, hierophany, postmodernism
