Abstract: | The analysis of narrative type in the ripeness writing of the novelist Nicolae Breban asserts the discussion on the verbal outline. Many of the critic's reproaches referred to the implicit type impurity style, incriminating the redundant, oversized, anacoluthic sentence, with a lot of subordinates, incidents, elliptical sentences and syntactic dislocations. Nevertheless, the writer makes his first appearance under the sign of neo- modernism. His novel Annunciation makes the passing to postmodernism and impurity of discourse, combining some different stylistic registers and communication codes in the same wording are usual practices for the writers who belong to these groups. Nicolae Breban himself recognizes this particularity of his sentence as a mark for the style, destined to lead him to the truth about himself and the word. He beholds himself with a voluptuous self-admiration, immersed in his own text. The extract selected from the novel Annunciation illustrates the gap moment, that of the ontological „fracture” in character’s existence. Description is twisted with the soliloqual discourse of a narrator credited with the supreme authority. The relevant words from the text can be grouped in two large categories: those that define the celestial province and those belonging to the earth. The 588 words in the fragment arranged in six unequal units in dimension, create a stunning vortex with radiating senses, destined to reveal the message. So, this kind of „snail” sentence or redundant sentence is a „vehicle” for the Idea he can express only through this special syntax. |
