| Abstract: | The present article brings into discussion the concept of the library and its importance for the spiritual evolution of the humanity along the time. The most important libraries of the world are mentioned and their contribution to the cultural development. We have also presented the first important libraries which were created in our country, revealing the synchronized change of our culture with the European one. Across the centuries this concept of library has been continuously modified according to the humanity progress, in general. The books made of paper are replaced by the e-books. So, the most recent renewing of the concept is represented by the digital library that has appeared in the idea of a global library. This final concept exeeds the limits of the classical library, because it becomes a tool for intercultural communication of the entire planet. |
