In this paper we adopted a socio-linguistic perspective on the way in which linguistic innovation is transmitted through the “generation of speakers”. In the process of innovation transmission one can notice the adaptation of the manner of utterance of the “generation of speakers” to the utterance of other generations, as a result of the adaptation of speech to the interlocutor. The innovation is transmitted with different intensity by speakers of different ages. As a result, in the study of the changes of a language, it is the parameter “age” that operates not the parameter “generation of speakers”.
