| Abstract: | [Names of periodicals in contemporary Romanian public space] This paper, based on a corpus of nearly 300 names of newspapers and magazines, aims to analyse from a socio-onomastic, etymological and morpho-syntactic point of view the main characteristics of this category of proper names in present-day Romanian. The research enabled us to reveal the naming motivations and the most frequent naming patterns in accordance whith the peculiarities of the sociocultural Romanian environment and with certain marketing strategies involved in mass media communication. |
