Prenant comme point de départ la définition de la « catégorie de la personne » proposée par Emile Benveniste, nous allons nous arrêter sur un des principaux réalisateurs de la catégorie de la personne : les pronoms personnels. Ceux-ci sont traités dans tous les manuels de FLE, mais nous allons nous concentrer sur la série éditée par Cavallioti pour le primaire et le secondaire (classes 3e – 8e2). Nous allons tout d’abord analyser quelles sont les parties du manuel où l’on traite les pronoms personnels, ensuite quelles sont les théories linguistiques que les auteurs des manuels ont adoptées et finalement ce que les transpositions didactiques proprement dites en ont retenu. L’hypothèse que nous allons essayer de démontrer est que les manuels de FLE ne présentent qu’une image incomplète de la catégorie de la personne et implicitement des pronoms personnels en se concentrant sur les réalisateurs de la langue et ignorant presque complètement leur fonctionnement discursif.
Considering as a starting point the definitions of the « category of the person » as proposed by Emile Benveniste, we shall analyze one of the main effectors of the category of the person: that is the personal pronouns. Those are dealt with in all the FFL textbooks, but we shall concentrate on the series published by Cavallioti for the primary and secondary school (3rd – 8th grades). First of all, we shall analyze which are the parts of the textbook where the personal pronouns are dealt with, then which are the linguistic theories applied by the textbook authors, and last, what the actual didactic transpositions have kept from those. The hypothesis which we shall try to demonstrate is that the FFL textbooks do not present but an incomplete image of the category of the person and implicitly of the personal pronouns, as they concentrate on the effectors of the language and almost completely ignore the way they function at the level of the discourse.
