| Abstract: | This article presents the structural contribution that the inherited verbs play in the process of enrichment, diversification, systematization and lexical modernization of the Romanian language. By detailing the derivative and analogical capacity of some verbs like bate, cădea, curge, duce, rupe, simţi, strânge, trimite, veni, zice, etc. it will be confirmed that the inherited Romanian derivative system has a regular and flexible character. It will also be proved the formal and semantic attraction (the instinctive one- via folk etymology and hereditary accuracy – or the voluntary one) that the inherited words exert on the neological loan words. |
