| Rezumat: | It is a well-known fact that in Romanian the superlative is rendered by various means, the expressive ones being far more productive than the grammaticalised forms. Studies such as Means of linguistic gradation (Elsa Lüder), Stereotypy and expressivity – from spoken language to the poetic text (Oana Chelaru-Murăruş), Lexical creativity in contemporary Romanian (Adriana Stoichiţoiu Ichim), among others, have mentioned and analysed the constructions with expressive adverbs, lexicalised structures, the comparison, the consecutive relation, the hyperbole, adverbial nouns or nouns used as adjectives, etc. In this article, we aim to make a selective presentation of the numerous forms of the superlative (we take into account both the relative and the absolute superlative) that are used in the language of the press. The selection criterion is the degree to which in time they have already become a linguistic cliché, or are in the process of becoming one. The analysed corpus belongs to the written and audio-visual media, most of the times accessed on line. The linguistic observations focus on: - the variety of combinations created by the formative elements; - the contextual diversity of the forms of the superlative. |
