Rezumat:Our approach, oriented towards the actantial framework of the analysed verbal lexemes of the three Romance languages (cf. rom. a mira, fr. étonner and sp. extrañar), is largely focused on the pattern with non-animated subject (both non-propositional and propositional). The feature is justified as the stimulus that triggers a state of wonder is mainly marked by [– animated]. As I had occasion to observe, following the investigations that I had carried out on many contexts in all three Romance languages included in our comparative research, experiencing the state of wonder takes place mainly under the “pressure” of negative stimulus-events, conclusion which justifies us to talk about a particular syndrome of modernity, definable in terms of a moral-emotional crises of today’s world. The infinitival subject occurs exclusively in French and Spanish, while Romanian distinguishes itself by opting for conjunctive pattern. As far as the subjective subordinates directed by a verb of wonder are concerned, a detailed categorization can be made, in terms of interrogative, exclamatory structures, which also represent the subtext of such statements.
The discussion dedicated to the subject [+ animated] consists of two parts, the first being devoted to the subject marked as [+ Person], the second, to the subject marked [–Person], respectively [+Animal]. However, even in such situations, (in-depth) decoding constantly aims not at the animated entity itself but at a certain attitude / behavior of it, certain gestures, words, facial expressions, reactions etc. In this context, a dissociation between a stimulus and a seemingly real stimulus, which also represents the authentic source responsible for a certain psychological experience, was made possible.
