Pragmatics was initially considered as a component of semiotics, later acquiring an autonomous status. Émile Benveniste opened the perspective of pragmatic approach by consideration of some concepts: „enunciation”, „subjectivity”, „discourse”, „deictic” etc. The attention given to the formal apparatus of enunciation contributed to the imposition of consistency in subsequent pragmatic research. At the end of the last century, several research modalities arouse: orientation towards the conventionality of enunciation and towards the relation between enunciation-meaning (H. Parret), approaching enunciation from a semiotic perspective (M. Hammad), openness towards the interlocution theory (Fr. Jacques). Reconsidering the “subjectivity” concept from Benveniste’s theory, some researchers – G. Paugam and V. Alexandrescu – emphasized the contrastive patters given by Kant, respectively by Descartes. The openness perspectives of Émile Benveniste’s theories reflected on pragmatic, semiotic, research, echoing in text linguistics as well.
